The Plastics Pipe Institute recently announced that their 2025 Project of the Year Award for the Power & Communications Division was awarded to Dura-Line
May 15, 2026
ADOT, in partnership with design and engineering firm Kimley-Horn, worked with Dura-Line to develop a roadside network that relied on the inherent flexibility of Dura-Line's FuturePath HDPE conduit. ADOT chose to install over 400 miles of FuturePath Armored 7-way conduit along interstate highways 17, 19, and 40 in rural Arizona, where the digital divide has created barriers to residents' access to health care, education, and job opportunities.
The conduit was paired with an innovative triple-vault design, which allows for necessary physical separation of ADOT's assets as well as those of its private-sector partners. The seven pathways will enable a significant expansion of their ITS and agency communications, making traveling across the state’s most popular destinations safer and more efficient to manage, all while facilitating a historic expansion in high-speed internet access for rural and underserved residents.
We are grateful to the Plastics Pipe Institute for their recognition. Learn more about PPI here.
